my skincare routine

Skincare can be a very tricky and deeply personal thing. My skin has changed so much in the past year and a half, I like to say its as if my skin went through a second puberty. I had combination skin for as long as I could remember, my cheeks were normal skin type, and my T zone was oily as hell. But after I had turned 19 my skin changed completely, and it turned dry. I soon found that my old skin care routine left my skin feeling tight and uncomfortable. I was still getting some acne bumps, but all of the products I had been using were too harsh. With some help from my dermatologist I found the right skincare routine for me.

I know that some people have a 29 step skincare routine, but that’s just not me. I know myself well enough to know that I would never stick to something that was so time consuming. I wanted a minimalist skincare routine that got rid of my acne but didn’t leave my skin feeling dryer than the Sahara Dessert in mid summer. With the help of my amazing dermatologist, this is what we came up with.

First I wash my face using the Epionce Purifying Cleanser. It has worked wonders on my acne that is now nonexistent. It doesn’t dry out my skin, or irritate it at all. I know that it is a little pricey but it comes in a huge bottle and lasts my mom and I both 3 months.

The second product he recommended was the Epionce Lytic tx retexturizing lotion. This is by far my favorite moisturizer, it helps my acne bumps go away and moisturizes without leaving my face feeling greasy.

The next thing I do (at least in the mornings) is put on sunscreen. Protecting your skin against sun damage is so so important. Your skin is your body’s largest organ, and we need to be doing our best to protect it. My favorite sunscreen is the Clinique Pep Start Sunscreen. It is a 100% mineral sunscreen that blocks both UVB and UVA rays. Mineral sunscreen is less likely to irritate sensitive skin, as it does not have fillers in it. The Clinique Pep Start Sunscreen doesn’t leave a white cast, and looks beautiful under makeup or by itself. One of the reasons I love this sunscreen so much is because it gives my skin the moisture it needs without being greasy. It also gives me that glowy and dewy look that I love.

Here are a few of my other skincare favorites:

Makeup remover: My favorite makeup remover Clinique Take the Day Off: Makeup remover for Lids, Lashes, & Lips. This product does a great job at taking off my mascara without me having to rub my eyes. It has never irritated my eyes, and works wonders for me.

Moisturizer (runner up): On days when I feel like my skin is bone dry and it needs that extra boost of moisture I always reach for my Clinique Moisture Surge. It is a gel moisturizer that makes my skin feel amazing, and is very soothing on my sensitive skin. It never leaves my skin feeling greasy or oily which is always a bonus.

Makeup free (besides mascara)

I am so thankful for my skincare routine because it has helped me to feel more comfortable in my own skin. I rarely wear any face makeup now.

  1. Good post. I learn something totally new and challenging on websites I stumbleupon every day. It will always be useful to read through content from other writers and practice a little something from their websites.
